Default TRANSMISSION SLIPS TO NEUTRAL

Can anyone tell me what will cause the transmission to shift to neutral while I am driving? Here is the situation. I had the transmission rebuilt by AAMCO (I already know), and I bought the lifetime warranty on the tranny. I have had it in afew of times for various adjustments. While I was driving behind a slow driver, I went to pass them. Just as I got beside them the transmission felt like it slipped into neutral. The RPMs pegged out and there was no acceleration. I let off the gas (thought the SOB was going to blow) and stomped on it again and it shifted back into overdrive and I passed the car. This has happened a couple of times for me. Then my wife took the truck and she turned onto the highway and stomped on it to get going and it did the same thing to her. She almost got hit because the f*&#ing transmission slipped to neutral. I took the truck to AAMCO and told them about this and it seemed to me that the truck was still not shifting right between 2nd and 3rd. So when I went to pick it up they told me that it was the speed control sensor and they can't change them. So I bought the cruise control switch and replaced it. Still does the same thing. I would like some advice as to what the problem could be so I can tell them what I think it is and they don't try to blow smoke up my ***.

shift solinoids, and Govenor Pressure Sensor, the people that built it should have replaced these.. if they didnt, tell them to. It should fix the problem, not 100% sure though.

Yea, I'm no transmission expert, but their "it's the speed control sensor," doesn't sound right.
User2006 sounds like he's got it right.

Ck your fluid level, it maybe low. Or loosing line pressure either from the case or seals.

I checked the fluid level it is bright red and full. I will take it in and ask if they replaced those parts and that they need to fix it so it runs like it should. Thanks for the quick responses.
