So what do you think? It's essentially an electric supercharger, running 2 to 3 lbs of boost. Is that significant enoughto do anything? Can the stock alternator handle the extra power? Is this guy just sticking a hair dryer in your hood or does it actually seem like a plausible option?

The polls attached, feel free to answer it, along with post your informational responses!

Personally... I'm interested, but a bit hesitant. It's going at $67 for the kit, which is 1/3 the price of the other simple cold air intake kits out there. That makes me quetsion it's legitimacy. However, it's not in a pretty package with a bunch of other bull**** like other products, so it may just be sensible. I'd be interested to see some feedback from others first though.

it will actually add some power, its a mini electric turbo, it does still force more air into your engine, making it easier on your engine, you will see a gain, how much, i can't really tell.
i would definantly mount it away from engine heat,

Ugh, this does NOT work. Look at the CFM on that fan. At WOT, more air could be forced into your motor normallythan that thing can flow. So with that in place, the air being drawn into your engine is going to be trying to make that fan spin faster than the electric motor can. It's a restriction.

The 2-3 PSI they are claiming only seems feesable with the throttle blades closed, once they are opened, it's completely worthless and in the way.

It's like a tire pump, put the pump on your tire and fill it up until the gauge is reading say.. 40PSI, this is what it would be like on your engine with the throttle blades closed. Now cut a big hole in the tire, (This is like opening the throttle blades)no matter how fast that little pump works, you aren't getting 40PSI anymore. Probably none. Same idea.

Don't waste your money.

If this really made 2-3 PSI, without a voltage clamp, your motor would go into fuel cut everytime it came on because the MAP sensor would be reading more than AP (0 PSI), which proves that it doesn't work because they claim it can be mounted on ANY vehicle with no other modifications. Any vehicle that uses a MAP sensor would run into this same problem.

I have seen this and wondered the same. I dont think it will do much on a v8. my friend bought one for his jetta 4cy it make a little better but not much. a v8 would need a hdleaf blower or more.

Interesting information coming forward. I'm not that interested in buying it, but more interested in the concept. The unit claims to move 200 CFM, and I believe it's being said that a stock motor will move up to 200 CFM?

Also, could you elaborate about how such a modification, if it were functional, would influence the MAP sensor?

Junk it take more power to generate the electricy to run it than you would gain.
To generate enough boost electricaly to do any good you would have to have trunk full of batteries and 4 alternators to power it

I don't think it would take THAT much to run this little blower. Initial startup would be rough, but it isn't going to take too much current once it's moving.

200CFM?The factory TB on our trucks can flow like 600+CFM. Like I said... restriction.
