Dakota RT Durango RT horsepower?
I wanted to know if anyone knows how much horsepower and torque a Dakota RT and Durango RT make. I know the 5.9 in the ram makes 245Hp and 355TQ I belive? But does the RT models make anymore than that? And if they do why do they. Is it the computer? Is the Engine and Injectors all the same or what?
Stock 5.9 R/T Dakota pushes.. 250hp/340torque at crank... R/T came with a PCM flash kinda like what the Tow package gets, shorter gears, advance timing.. ect...

the 5 extra HP comes from a different exhaust on the R/T. Has a free flowing exhaust compared to stock applications.

I agree with everything you said except for the fuel sync. All dodge vehicles are set to "0" even if a performance cam is installed unless you request the dealership to change it. And most dealerships, even 5 star, don't know what a fuel sync is. They have to get out their fancy little books and look it up...pathedic!

Im only 20 years old, and im pretty sure they think im just another ****ing stupid ***.
o and about the fuel sync. Yes most are set to 0.. but if you ever have a chance, take a look at the stock PCM setting for a Dakota R/T... its actually set at +3. Mines at +6 right now, and im having bad problems with backfire and lowend bog. Im about to rotate the damn dis. and keep checking it till i get it to about +4 or 3.. The dealership would want like 90 an hour to redo my sync... and it would take them 4 hours just to figure out how to do it..
They both put out near the same it not the same don't they? I know the Durango is on the Dakota chassis, so I would assume they'd probably have the same power. But I could be wrong, its all a guess.
I've never seen a "stock" dodge, even R/T, with the fuel sync at +3. They were always at "0" unless someone messed with the distributor. Mine is ranging from +3-6.(on snap on and chrysler scanner)I just did a fuel sync on my neighbors 1999 Dakota R/T.(we put a cam in it) It was at "0" to start with and we put it at +2-4.
