ORIGINAL: virused

I would replace the O2 sensors and clean the throttle body while you are at it.
+2.
Try using Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner (about $8 from the dealer). I was having a similar bog problem (with me, usually happened with engine cold), and used that, and the problem got better.

ordered the TPS and o2 sensor today, TPS was $82 and change from the dealer, downstream o2 from a local parts shop $64. i will use the combustion chamber cleaner when the parts go in, is that stuff a add in fuel tank??? hopefully this goes away, or i hate to say it "the dakota will be gone".

The Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner comes in an aerosol can, and you spray it into the throttle body.
Thecomputer might throw a code (mine did, for misfires, because it starts to make the engine run pretty rough), but the codes do go away by themselves. Just follow the instructions on the can.

$58 later...
changed the TPS, big improvement,
but not fixed.
I'm gonna clean the TB this week, see if I can get more improvements.

I wish I could get a bigger TB for my 4- cyl without selling the next kid

so i installed new parts today to try and fix my problem. installed downstream o2, tps, iac. after i put them in i started it up. everything seemed fine, waited till the truck was up to temp then shut it off. i waited 15 minutes and restarted it and bam rough idle again (PROBLEM NOT FIXED) what could be causing this??? could a plugged cat do this? i am just a little confused as it only does it right after starting when the engine is hot. any help would be greatly appreciated.

A clogged cat can do a lot of problems. I had one on mine. Took it off improved idle by about 75-80% I did put a new one on but high flow.

i am going to change the cat, soon. but now that i have put all these other parts in my budget is a little tight now. where did you get the high flow cat and about how much was is? i dont want to have to remove the whole pipe. if i can get away with cutting the old one out between the o2's and weld or clamp a new one in it would be great. is there any way to test to see if my cat is clogged???
