Windshield Cowl help
Hey guys, I have not posted on here before, but I have been looking around for the past couple of months and have found tons of useful information about my dakota.
I bought my dakota in October of last year and I really like the truck. Now for mydilema, when I'm of the highway doing anywhere between 100km/hr -120 km/hr, I start to get this really bad wind noise coming fromwhat I think is the windshield cowl. The noise is louder if it is really windy out. It's quite annoying and embarassing if I have someone in my truck with me and I pass a semi and all of a sudden this loud noise starts, and there would be know way anyone could tolerate it if you were going out of town.At first my dad andI thought it was the cowl vibratingon the windshield so I put some soft rubber trim pieces between the cowl and the windshield hoping that it would stop the noise, but it didn't.
Have any of you guys had this happen to your trucks? If so, any ideas on what could be causing this noise and how to fix it?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Welcome to the forum. I haven't heard of this happeneing before. Are you sure it is coming from your windshield, and not the firewall? Take the carpet out and see if anyone has made additional holes in the firewall to run wiring, etc. through; also check to make sure the seals in the firewall are good. Could this noise be coming from your air vents? Does it make the noise when you close off all of the vents?
Thanks for the input guys, I will have to check the firewall for extra holes drilled in it. When the noise does happen, you can feel the bottom of the windshiled vibrating so i just assumed that it was the cowl.
Jonnymagnum, how did you know it was you door seels?
