It's not really about that though is it Kurby...

That thing looks sick but I would hate to be the guy to do any work on that engine. That is one tight fit.

no i guess its not, but the dakota is a big heavy truck. even if you can make it go fast its not going to turn or stop. Im all for some towing performance or some off road power but damn. Then again if you did it i would give you a dollar for a test ride... i will admit i have completely given up on making cars or trucks go fast. i have a $4k kawasaki that will burn anything on 4 wheels, it just isnt worth it to make cars go fast for me

ORIGINAL: batman13

Is this the Idea you're going for?
This setup was done with no body stretching
but i belive the firewall was pushed back, and the entire front frame was heavily modified
and the rear end was reinforced.....
I don't remember all the work involved but it was'nt some backyard build

Guy who built that truck said he only had to pund in teh section above the motor for some clearance. Wasnt much else modified. Even ran the stock rear for a while. Never could get it to hook up at the track. He was on another board a few years ago with it. Chuck Snograss or something like that from Idaho.

The V10 is nothing more than a 360V8 with 2 extra cylinders. Even with a v8 theres still quite a bit of room if you use an electric fan. Probably is about 50-75lbs heavier than the v8 also.
