Dodge Dakota R/T

RE: Dodge Dakota R/T
ORIGINAL: 5 speed
not a precious R/T but i have a 99 "sport" with a 5.2L 5 speed manual with the same rear end and gear as an R/T i love it its different and fun to drive
97-99 you could get the 5.2 5 speed combo
00-04 would be the 4.7 5 speed
the 4.7 has less aftermarket and is less upgrade friendly compared to the old 5.2/5.9 and the 5.2 has 230hp/300ft/lb wile the 5.9 is rated at 245/335ft/lb with a couple bolt ons your at the same power if not better with the advantage of a manual trans

RE: Dodge Dakota R/T
kiesler auto does 5 & 6 speed conversions for dakotas. problem is, i've been trying to get them to quote me a price for my r/t, but they won't respond back to me. i read about them in a couple of mopar magazinesselling completeswaps for older mopars, and recently for dakotas. i'm thinking about hitting the junkyards and looking for a 5.2/five speed dakota and taking everthing, since i'm getting no response from them. this all started because my auto is not wanting togo into overdrive once it warms up. it has 52k on it, and the tranny was gone through at 35k because it wasn't working right!
