Default Dodge Dakota R/T

Hi i was curious if anyone knew whether there is a such thing as a manual dodge dakota R/T. i have yet to be able to find one for sale anywhere in my area i do not kno if its just a rare find or no such thing exists. usually i would not question the existance of a manual truck but it just reminded me of the lack of the manual option for a firebird WS6 which surprised me just the same. Any information would be a great help, Thanks.

Are you sure your not talking about a shift kit?? Like something that puts the column on the floor? I've never heard of taking an automatic and making it a manual with just a kit.

To answer the kids question.

No 98-03 Dakota R/Ts DID NOT come with a manual Tranny.

Although. People have swaped the trannys, and put in a viper 6 speed, and **** like that, but honestly if your going to be driving in rain or drag racing.. i would stick to auto and just get a Transgoshift kit and a hurst ground shifter.

you can also rebuild a tranny/swap a auto tranny to give back the 20% loss the 46re takes from the crank Hp.

not a precious R/T but i have a 99 "sport" with a 5.2L 5 speed manual with the same rear end and gear as an R/T i love it its different and fun to drive

97-99 you could get the 5.2 5 speed combo
00-04 would be the 4.7 5 speed

the 4.7 has less aftermarket and is less upgrade friendly compared to the old 5.2/5.9 and the 5.2 has 230hp/300ft/lb wile the 5.9 is rated at 245/335ft/lb with a couple bolt ons your at the same power if not better with the advantage of a manual trans

For straight line racing, I'd take an auto with a shift kit and stall converterover a manual anyday.

oh i wont be racing it i just HATE automatic. just a personal preferance the only time i want an auto is like in my ram and that is for 4wheelin because a manual is HARD to use offroad and it tears clutches up when u sink it in mud. if they dont make a kit ill just have to convert it myself ill get the clutch pedal and such from a regular dakota andsuch and do it myself, aint the first me and my friend have done... thanks for all the advice, any tips ya'll have would be appreciated thanks

your going to have to send that pcm in to a performance company to have it reflashed to keep the r/t parameters but have it where it wont be searching for input from the transmission... one of the guys on here, i forgot who.. sorry, knows where to send it
