i would like to say it would bolt in place but from a general aspect of it, your going to have to check your driveshaft length, run new brake lines from the truck onto the axle, ake sure the abs/ speed sensor wires connect, rim bolt pattern will be the same, leaf spring mounts maybe different, shock mounts should also be the same, im not certain on it, doont take my word for it, but im giving you a general heads up, others will chime in and give you better answers then i can

I wouldn't even do the swap. With a V6 all your doing is adding more weight to the vehicle. When you see the 8.25 next to the 9.25 there is a big diff between the 2.

The 8.25 rearend can more then handle anything your V6 can throw at it. If you want LSD then spend money on that, not on a whole 9.25.

It is pretty much a bolt up project though if all that doesn't make you think twice.

I'm planning to put a V8 in eventually but i figured i'd start by upgrading the rearend since i want the limited slip now anyways. Rather than buy the LS for the 8.25 and just replace the rearend later. thanks for the advice. I probaly wont be doing the swap for a few weeks, but when i do i'll let you know how it goes.

The 8.25 can handle alot of power. I have heard it is comarable to the Dana 44. I have it under my truck I have a 5.9 rt engine and it isway more thanstock power. I go rockcrawling and everything and no problems.

Unless thats a blown 408 I still wouldnt go with a 9.25 rearend. Plus after doing some research I hear of alot of pinion problems with the 9.25's. I bought a 9.25 LSD rearend with 20k miles on it, and then decided on just re-doing my 8.25.

(in fact just picked it up friday.....new 4.10's and a LSD, the 4.10's are awesome!)

8.25 Is pretty damn strong. I do take it rockcrawling. And I won a burnout contest against 5 carmaros. 1 alcohol burner. he ran 10s in the 1/4mile. Iwas going over 100 couldnt see anything. I know the 9.25 is strong but so is the 8.25. I still have the stock axles and all.
