RE: supercharger kits. whats the best?
I have the Kenne-Bell. It's a great setup. They were about $4,500-$5,000 for the entire setup new, but they don't produce them for our trucks anymore so you'll have to find one used. The setup right out of the box is good except for the piggyback that comes with it. The OptimizerII. It's junk. So the best thing to do is ditch that, and get an aftermarket fuel and timing controller such as an FMU with a BTM, MegaSquirt, ect. I run the FTC-1E from www.splitsec.comand it's great. Takes a while to get it all tuned in, but once you do you'll gain a lot more than you would with the optimizer, and have better driveability too. Plus you can save numurous tunes for different conditions.
I would take a Paxton anyday as well. Even a Vortech. They have some great setups. I'm not hugely fond of Powerdyne. They aren't bad units, they just don't have the gain of some of the others. I think of it as a "Beginners" setup.
