Headlight Switch
98 dakota, Ext. Cab V6
New to the forum but have a question about what I thought was a headlight switch. I replaced the switch, and found out that when I pull the **** all the way out my headlights come on but my cluster lights go out along with my tail lights. If I have the **** about half way out though, the cluster, tail lights, and parking lights work, but not the headlights. I've replaced the switch 3 different times hoping I had a bad switch but they all do the same thing. I also ran a wire from the switch to the ground on my battery and still no different. I didn't want to take my truck to the shop for this, but may have to. Thanks for any advice that may be posted.

What 5 speed said. I had that happen before and it was a blown fuse. Replaced it, turned the lights on and it blew again. Traced it to a short where the previous owner had spliced a trailer light connector to the tail light wires.
