Hey, I'm wondering what the bar in the box of trucks is called that has the Baja Lights on it. It's like a roll bar... what's the technical term and where can I buy one?!
Roll bars/light bars/ show barsare in the bed. These will not support during a rollover. They are just for show and to mount lights. Those will buckle in a roll.
You can buy them at most auto parts stores (have to be ordered). Also Jegs, SUmmit and a bunch other websites have them also.
i think nerf is more for a style of bar. not necc. a physical positioning on the truck. and i'm pretty sure the origanal purpose or this specific bar was for aditional rollover protection. but the more modern day versions are just for show. right?
Nerf protects the rockers, which are under the doors. And unless things have changed in teh last 30 yrs, they always have called the bars under the doorsnerf bars.
nerf bars are used primarily for stepping into the vehicle. they offer very little protection to the body. rock sliders or rock rails offer good protection against body damage and also can be used as steps.
