Default Tranny @#$%&

2000 QC w/5.9 My tranny never seems to be in the gear it shouldbe in when I want it to go. Seems to up shift quickly and lack of down shift when I want to kick it. I would think this truck should move along pretty well but it is kinda gut less un less I shift the auto trans manually then it really rips. I already had a solenoid and valve of some sort replaced a little while back cause it shifted very eratically now it just seems to be in high gear when I need it lower. What gives? Any upgrades for these like a performance shift kit of some sort. I really would like to straighten this thing out.

Mine does this.. I was told you can take it to the dealership, and get the computer updated for better shift points!

mine kinda does this, and so did my brothers. Start saving your money for a tranny job, you got about 20k left on it, we had to get his tranny rebuilt at 120k, his truck is a 2000 QC sport 5.9, with 175k on it now, still running strong!

Do you drive mostly around town? Try driving with your O/D off.

I always drive with OD off unless on highway, not sure what code is on the computer. The truck acts like a pig though - I don't think the tranny is on it's way out I am just looking for a way to change the shifting points. I don't like the idea of the dealer. $85.00 per hour is ridiculous. What kinda charge do you think I could expect for an update or flash or what ever it is?
