Default '01 water pump replacement

I have a 2001 Quad Cab V6 5 speed. Looks like a coolant leak is coming out of the water pump and dripping on the belts. Any hints on replacing this? Is there enough room to do it without taking the radiator out or is that impossible? I just noticed it tonight and haven't looked into what's involved too closely yet.

Also, when looking at replacement pumps on-line, why are there different styles for the same year? What are the 'VIN' codes that are followed by a letter. Not sure what they correspond to.

if im not mistaken, your lookin for vin code 'X'... they are looking for the engine you have in your truck, and if im not mistaken, the X is code for the v6

i did mine a few months ago. One word "Spannerwrench" you need this to hold the fan in place while you unscrew it from the pump, and be careful with the tube that come out of the side pointing to the drivers side, don't crunch it.search the forum before you do it, it will give you a bunch of tips, not bad to do, just a bit of a pain.
