$1800 [&o]

that's just plain ridiculous! Do it yourself and buy a TeraLOW. give these guys call and see how much they are selling them for. I got mine for $800. www.performanceoffroadcenter.com

Or if you're daring enough you could put a Dana 300 then buy a flip kit, clocking kit, and the TeraLow for the Dana 300!

I've got a Dana 300 that I did put up to my 45RE tranny and it was the right bolt pattern but I'm saving the Dana 300 for a future TJ.

Here's a great write up for the Dana 300 flip, clock, and rebuild. http://homepage.mac.com/rv6a/d300.html

I bought 2 liters of mobile 1 synthetic ATF, I thought i read somewhere that it was good stuff. Im getting my transfer case from the wreakers. Do you think I still need to split it open and replace both seals?..I guess it makes sence.

Crack it open, clean it out, and replace the seals before you put it in. Things will be so much easier if you do.

I'm new at this so please forgive any missteps. I have a 2002 Dakota Quad Cab 4x4. It sounds like the front hubs are always engaged, causing the front axle and front drive shaft to spin. Is this normal? Is there not some kind of automatic hub engagement/disengagement device? The selinoid located at the rear of the transfer case seems to be doing its job. I just wonder if the hubs are made to be "locked" all the time or if they should disengage when the in-cab switch is set to 2WD.
Thanks
