Default radio plugs

ok, i finally got around to pulling my dash to replace my radio. Alas, just to find out that mine doesnt have the same plugs as the one i was given, nor anything remotely close.

Now what do I do?

I've got the infinity sound system with tweeters in the doors and 3 bar equalizer. and the casette/CD combo head unit.

Also, the airbag switch came unplugged when i pulled the dash (why are the leads so short????)..i unhooked the battery, is it safe to plug it back in and reconnect the battery without them going off?

The vertical connectors is mine, horizontal was given to me. Even the antenna is different?????

I ust looked, and the antenna changed in 2002. so the radio must be from a 2002 truck, not 01 as i was told?

My truck has the regular motorola antenna plug with these leads-

Circuit City has a ton of adapters and stereo wiring for our trucks. You can't find them online at their web site(I've tried). You have to go to the garage on the outside of the store and ask them. They have them all there. If they don't have what you need new then they may also have one from a previouse install they did. I got every harness with factory type connectors and adapters. They even had a harness for the pioneer I bought from ebay thats about 3 - 4 years old. The harness pluged right into the pioneer and the other side of the harness has the dodge factory type connector + I got an extension all for $33.00.

umm the one with the vertical connectors is the old style, with a square face, and the one that you have is new (im guessing a round face sticking out of the dash) and they are not compatible, i tried in my 98

no, both physically fit the dash and everything fine. Just the wiring is different. I'm guessing a mid year swap? the person that gave it to me said it's from an 01, and mine's an 01, so mid year change?

The radio has a square connector next to a wide connector, both have 2 rows of pins. He says he has the adapter to go from that to the pair of single row connections.

But what can i do for the antenna, being mine is the normal motorola style plug and the one gievn to me has the coaxial one, that almost looks like a BNC type cable with a different connector on it.

the old style radios(square face) had two plugs on the back, with a ground and a round antenna wire(i know my spelling suck), the "new" ones have a round face, one plug on the back (i guessing on the rest) with a ground and from what you are telling the antenna wire is not round??? which plug set came with your truck??

87-01 same harness what is ur mfg date? also you will need a factory amp harness gna end up costing about 50 in harnesses, id dump the crap infinity amp and use a small 4ch aftermarket, use the rca outputs to run it, yea its a bit of extra wiring from the amp to the doors but well worth it if you like good clean loud music...

if its a 02+ then you will need a snap lock fot the antenna...abotu 15 buccks

thats my other idea to get a aftermarket head unit from crutchfield, it's 100 bucks and the face adapter and the wiring harnesses come free.

from what i can figure out, my radio is an 01 unit and the one sent to me is an 02

the one sent has date code 2653 2015

I dont want to swap speakers. All my dad will let me do is aftermarket with detachable face or factory replacement.
