Default magnaflow exhaust

[:@]i bought the cat back ,single dump system for my 04 dak. the pipes are big and after installed, the sound isalot louder.than i had anticipated. there also seems to be some resonation in the cab which is quite annoying andmy daughter is complaining about it also. would a smaller tail pipe help or instead of exit out the side, would the rear be better. i bought the system to help increase my towing tourque. any help please.

Turn up the music and buy ear plugs hehe........just kidding I had to say it .....out the rear will carry the sounds away some but depending on the model of magnaflow you got some are made to make that rumble in the cab.....and if that does not do enough then changing to a diff muffler of course.....the flowmaster 50 series is a good choice for what you are wanting to do...give the good flow but not near as loud inside or out as the 40 series....that is why I like flowmaster over magnaflow but they are the two best makers out there.....good luck

actually flowmasters dont flow that well..well chambered mufflers in general...smaller pipes would probably make it a little less quite and out the back would as well another thing you might want to try is to add in some type of resenator or small glass pack to quite it down but not restrict the flow any...good luck.

I would either get smaller tips or just switch out your muffler to a bigger size. I have a 18" maggy on mine and it's pretty loud. I would try the 24" if a shop did it. then they should be able just to switch it out if you tell them its too loud.

Y doesnt flowmaster flow that well? i put them on my 1998 dakota with the 5.2 and i love it and do see an increase in power. so i dont think they restrict anything. i like it. maybe they are better on the bigger engines like the 5.2 and the 5.9. but i cant complain!
