complete battery failure
yesterday i went about my business driving all over town before i decided to take a mid day nap. i go out to my truck a few hours later and my battery had completly ****ed itself in the ***. it was as worthless as **** on a boar hog. regardless, alt is perfectly fine, no connection issues, etc. but i replaced it with a 1000ccr optima. set me back a penny, but what the hell.

It's kinda rare that a Bat will let go without warning. Slow cranking in the mornings,..
Powers down quickly just using the radio,.. Things like that. White stuff around the terminals
that keep coming back quickly after cleaning them.
Also, after 4 yrs, your fair-game when it comes to replacement. I've had batteries last 8 years
before replacing. Me, I like Interstate batteries. Good battery-fair-price.

Battereies are weird, they can go without any notice at virtually any time. (Usually the worst time possible) A good battery life is about 6 years, any more than that and your pushing it, but i have seen it happen. Sometimes you may get a defective battery that only lasts a year or 2, but on the plus side thats why you have a warranty!! We sell battereis that have a 3 year FREE replacement.

another thing that kills batteries, is a dirty casing, the dirt can be spread across the case connecting the terminals, take a voltmeter and connect the neg lead to the neg terminal and the positive lead to anywhewre on that case and look for voltage, over a course of a few days, that will kill it

My parents have a 1997 with the original battery in it. Not bad stuff on the terminals yet. My dakota has bad terminals but still holds charge and everything. But it's 10 years old the battery so something must be good lol. But it's pretty much shot. I played the radio for two minutes killed it completely.

Ya know i heard great things about the optimas untill i starting working where i am now. A guy there has had a few bad run ins with them. Im a little sad to here that they arent as good as they seem to be. I will probably need one soon and will look into the interstates or duralasts.
