Default Help with brake shoes

I got some new shoes and in the process of replacing. The rear shoe has a littlepin at the bottom that holds the adjuster ratchet lever thingy together. The new pads just have a hole. I figure I got to move this pin over to the new shoes, I gave it a few taps, and it feels pretty solid. Is there a way to get this pin out, or could I havethe wrong shoes? I'm afraid of peening it over if I beat on it any more. The new shoes are from parts america, advance auto.

Wrong shoes,.. Ya got the wrong ones. You need those pins.
And, you DON'T want them to be loose.
If you can beat them out without breaking them something is wrong.
