I had a couple of hoses under the hood that was causing this problem for me. One hose came off the throttle body and don't remember where the other one went, but they were pretty close together and you could easily see they were cracked badly. I do remember that both hoses went to some sensor located just to the left of the battery (as you are sitting in the truck). I have also heard of the same thing around the charcoal filter near the gas tank causing this also. Hope that helps.

moe in wichita ks. i had a 1999 that i traded for a 2001. i had a locking gas cap on the 99 when i moved it to the 2001 the engine light came on. the threads are different and the seal is different. so a 99 gas cap will not work on a 01

try getinga new gas cap first, if it still comes up start checking hoses, mine were cracked under the fuse block under the hood (drawing a blank on what the thing is called under there..)
