Default How many quarts of oil??

Hey guys, well someone broke into my truck a while back and stole my owners manual. Weird... I know.

Anyways, can someone tell me how many quarts of oil my engine takes??

Its a 2004 Dodge Dakota SXT with a 3.7L V6 engine. I know its around 5, but I dont know the exact amount.

Thanks in advance!

Jim

Just fill it up to 4 quarts start it up for 30 seconds. Let it settle and see how much is says on the line. Keep doing till you are half way between the two check spots. Best way to do it.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input, I put in 5 quarts and it was pretty much perfect, id put in another 1/4 quart, but at almost 7 bucks a quart I think my engine will be just fine with 5!

Thanks everyone!
