Right minded Radio?
I've had 2 radios, and both did the same thing- If I turn left, the radio will do SOMETHING- sometimes it jumps bands, sometimes it jumps channels, or it might jump to a different preset, or any combination of the three. (once, it went from 89.7 FM to 600 AM, which it said was preset 2). It's obviously inside the radio, as there's no circutry anything related to that stuff anywhere else in the truck (I have wheel mounted cruise, not radio, otherwise i'd have cause of suspicion). Is this a know bug with the factory radios or what?
I have never heard of this happening but there may be a bad ground somewhere. you might whant to pull out the whole radio and check all the wires.
well see thats thw thing- what, outside of the radio, would cause it to jump stations and/or presets (i know going down the road once it jumped from preset 4 to preset 2) randomly? A ground would make it turn off, not change stations. It doesnt have steering wheel controls so theres no button to be accidently being pushed or shorted oranything, I dont know where the infinity amp is but it shouldnt be able to affect it, nor should the antenna cable?
The amp is up front in the pasenger seat area. Just open the door, pull up on the plastic near the door you'll see where it over laps the other part up near the glove box area around there, then after that is pulled up, lift off the other piece that it was covering, its behind there mounted on the side
Even if you dont have the steering wheel radio controls there still could bethe wires for it in the wiring harness in the steering wheel, and thoes could be getting chaffed. Pull the cover off the steering collum and check the wiring harness.

My Dads Durango was doing something similar and I dont think it had steering wheel radio controls. He replaced the clock spring. It is what allows circuits such as cruise control to work when the wheel turns instead of having wires twisting. Its located between the wheel and the steering column. Might not be the problem, but its something to think about.
Did dodge leave the harness's in the column even if unused? I'd have to go back and check the wiring, but i dont even remember any external control leads.
most cars have one harnes that goes in all cars of that make and model look under seat and carpet of a dak with no power seats you'll find the power seat plugI do car audio and Im inclined to agree with the stering collum theory (hard to troubleshot online)
if to much to deal with just go aftermarket.
