I got to asking my parts guy at our dealership and the biggest problem with converting the rear to disc is that the caliper bracket mounts are not present on rear axles that come factory with drum brakes. You could swap axle housings or simply weld brackets on to the axle tube. The other things are just a matter of swapping the drum components for the disc
no,not sport package.she has a 3.7 v6,5 speed man tranny, twin air intake, muffler back dual pipes with folwmaster 40 muffler, towing package, clear headlights and corners, tilting soft tonneau, red to match the body,120 psi air compressor with 2 twin trumpet air horms,1 under the truck and the other where the stock air box used to be.you cant hear the oem horns but you'll hear these.i wanted to put a chip in and maybe swap the brakes over before i start pulling a boat down the road.
i think that ssbc makes a rear disc conversion for our trucks. i have looked into it but it was a while back. if i can remember i think the price was around a grand for everything.
Stainless Steel Brake Corp. makes a bolt in kit, but it costs like $1,000!! My 04 QC has discs all around, and my 99 2wd has disc/drum. What my thought was to swap axles from a wrecked QC or R/T, but not too sure if its a direct fit or not.
