2 years ago i towed a 25 ft race car trailer, all steel i beam constructed with a 1983 chevy caprice on it up to the demolition derby. 3.7 v6 with 5 speed manual and 3:55 rear, standard cab with tool box, jack, torch, etc in the bed. a little slow getting up to 70 mph because it was an uphill grade once we got onto the highway.towed great, maintained 70 most of the way.i did take quite a bit longer to stop that much weight.

We towed our car trailer with a 68 Ranchero (thus my screen name) on it with a Club Cab v6/auto once. It was no rocket but it did OK. No trailer brake hook up on it though and that caused a cheap thrill a time or two. When you pull a trailer it's like everyone wants to pull out in front of you. The trailer weighs 1500 lb +/- and that Ranchero was around 3000lbs. For an occasional tow the v6 was OK ..... but trailer brakes are a must! This trailer is a tilt deck and built like a tank. Looks aluminum but it's steel, painted aluminum.

I got a 99 318 4x4 auto 3:55 32x11.5-17's 217,000kms and I get about 17-18mpg. with my31's, I used to get 20-21mpg.

I have a CAI, exhaust, and superchips programmer.

I've towed my 74 F250 2wd 390bb 4 speed that weighed 7,000lbs on a 1,500lbs car trailer. and it did pretty good for how heavy the load was. and I had no trailer brakes either.
