Default 04 dakota engine quits

My 2004 dakota engine quit while driving. No notice, no engine lights, nothing. It started up right away. I also had problems with the FOB keyless system working earlier the same day. I have read were it could be the PCM (hope not). The alternator and battery checked out fine. It seems electrical. Where should I start to troubleshoot this before it happens again?

Thanks

Paul

check all you're connections.we had one of our international trucks at work do the same thing.it was actually the ecm harness, but international said it burned because the ecm connector was loose.

The bad thing is that until you can get it to do it consistently or find out what makes it do it consistently, its almost impossible to diagnose. I haven't seen any 3.7 vehicles with that problem at my dealership though

That's the thing, I hope it doesn't happen consistently. You mentioned the word "dealership". I read that there are some problems with the dakota and the durango engine shutting off witout warning. Something is amiss. I'll keep trying, but this problem is not unusual.

Haha, yeah....you have to understand that I kind of see things from both perspectives. I have had several vehicles in the shop....various years and models.....with the same basic complaint, and I have yet to be able to even duplicate the problem. I know as a customer thats hard to hear when you have your vehicle towed in for that kind of problem, but it happens. I can't speak for every technician in the business, but I try my damndest to figure out these annoying problems, but at the same time I have to be able to pay bills..... But enough of my soapbox...I say all that to say that if you do get it figured out, let me know what you find
