Groaning noise...Power Steering?
When I start my truck up in the morning it sounds and drives great....As it warms up though it starts having a loud groaning noise, especially when I'm turning...Meaning the groaning getsworst. I checked my power steering fluid and there is a small leak, but steering never gets tight or hard to move. I top it off about every 10 days or so...Andit is a groaning noise not a squeak or asqueal...I wanted to check to see if anyone else has had this issue ordoes it sound likeonce I replace the steering pump it will resolve the groan?
Thanks.

Sorry i do not have a soultion for you but mine does the exact same thing, it has done it for about two months and i have done everything i can to stop it but nothing seems to help. The only thing that is diffrent is that mine does not leak at all.
ur pump is on its way out, you ever flush the fluid in ur powersteering system? This needs to be done just liek any other fluid in your truck... every say 30-50k depoending on city/highway driving.
groning may be dry balljoints

May be air lock in pump or steering gear. Flush pump by taking off the belt , and take offthe high pressure hose so you can catch fulid comming out of the pump, turn the pump by hand and keep adding fluid so it doesnt go dry. what ever you do DONT run solvent or any other light fulids in the pump, it must have regular fulid only. I'm hoping this weekend I will have more information....I'm going to change out the belt, bearing(s) and the powersteering pump and hopefully this will solve it...
