Default Heater fan only runs on high

The fan on my2001 Dakota Crew cab 4.7L only runs on high. Checked the fuse, and it's ok, and it seems to not be sending the air to theright places(defrost, floor, dashboard). Anyone have similar problems like this? Could it be a vacuum problem, or does it sound like an electrical problem?
Thanks to all!

Blower resistor. About $30 and easy to do it yourself. Mounts into the housing above passengers feet. 3 screws I think.

Thanks for your help. I bought the part, located the resistor blockk and spent 45 minutes trying to get the quick connect off. There seemed to be a red retaining clip in the plug that I removed, and still could not get the D#%! thing off. Any tips?
Thanks.

Yup, this is a common problem on ANY vehicle. The red clip should slide outthe side a bit, then pres the release down and pull it out.

Those damn connectors witht the red slide! I had the same problem when I try to unplug the control cluster in the driver door, and once I got it out I had to use a screwdriver to reset the red slide.
