Default pegged speedo

I have an '04 Dakota, quad 4X4, 4.7 auto; I replaced the ambient air temp sensor, dis-connected the neg terminal to reset the light & when i restarted the engine, the speedo pegged @ 120 & stayed there. Anyone familiar with this issue? I called the local AZ, (the dealer is closed) & they haven't got a clue.

You might try running the self diag on the cluster and see if the speedo will reset.

Default RE: pegged speedo

If you dont know how to do it, turn your key to the on position and hold the rest button on your speedo cluster... In i think ten seconds you will see stuff start to flash and it will recalibrate everything....
