not to sound rude but doesn't anyone ever have a reliable local mechanic that they can goto that doesn't charge out the *** i finally got my dad to take our van to our local guy who i trust a million times more than a dealer and its like a million times cheaper as well. just a thought find someone around you that you can get to know and trust and you wont have to take the hit of dealer labor costs and mark up. and i know some things need the dealer but most things other garages can take care of.

I agree 100%. When I was experiencing steering problems, my dealer did everything other than fix it and remind me that my warranty was almost up, and there was still time to buy that extended warranty that I better get in case my steering," that they could not fix", might quit working. I remembered a place where we used tolive that specialized in front end work only, so I opted to go there. They fixed in 20 minutes what the dealer couldn't in countless trips to them. It cost me $80. How far do you think $80 would have gone at the dealers ? Now that the truck is out of warranty, it will never see the dealer again. I'm curious to see how long Chrysler is in business now with the life time warranty, or perhaps what loop holes they have in the warranty language.

dealers like to put things off untill the warrentys up in a lot of cases that happen to my friends mom couldnt find anything wrong with the brakes the week after the warranty was up they said the whole abs and brake system needed replaced. stay away from dealers usless you have an inside line or something and know them just my .02 cents
