throttle body space = nice paperweight

i dont feel like explaining why but just trust me if i need to explain let me know i will try
So does this apply to all TBS, or just dakotas? A friend of mine has one on his '04 I5 Colorado and swears up and down, that its annoying and he has more power as well as better gas mileage.

Anything with fuel injection will not work like it would on a carbed motor. The whole point of a TB spacer is to atomize the air and fuel, but since there is no fuel mixing with the air at the spacer on an EFI engine, it's not atomizing anything. By the timethe airreaches the heads and gets mixed with fuel, any swirling effect it had on the air has been lost through the intake manifold, so it will yield littleto nobenefit. Our engines are even worse than mostbecause of the odd design of the intake manifold runners. There are so many curves for the air to travel, that there is no way any effect made on the air would make it all the way to the heads. Even if it was carbed it would pretty much eliminate any benefits when it travelled through the manifold on our motors.
