Default Throttle Body Spacer

I've been looking into these things and I don't quite understand them. Im just curious as to if there actually worth it. Does anyone with these installed tell a difference in the hp and response of the throttle. Better acceleration, stuff like that. Just curious about them. Also what brand names to get. And how much they cost. Also, how hard is it to change them? I know my throttle seems kinda delayed when I hit the gas pedal it takes just under a second for the RPM to respond to the pedal movement. Not sure if this is normal or not. But would putting in a throttle body spacer help this at all?

Thanks
Geoff

try this for throttle response...i didnt try it, and to be honest, these kind of mods make me nervous. im more into bolt on stuff that i can take back off if it doesnt work for me.if i messed it up then id have to go buy new parts. but i have heard that this helps alot...try this link...http://www.v8performance.com/tipsandtricks.htm#TPS_Mod

Thanks guys. Im glad I asked first before going out to buy one. Do you guys have any ideas as for why I have a delayed throttle response. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Thanks
Geoff

Try the TPS mod like was stated above. If done correctly it can help. Do you have an automatic? Are you sure you're not describing the pause it takes for the transmission to kick down?

It is an automatic. Even when im in park I can tell that its not really responding right. Unless its just me. I just tap the gas a little, then it responds 1 second after.

Well if you blip the gas too fast and too much pedal it will always hesitate. Your basically adding too much air too fast with no load on the engineand it takes a second to compensate for it. When you are outon the road and give it a lotof pedal the hesitation you feel is more than likely the transmission shifting down.
