Room behind Quad Cab seats?
Okay, I've been looking to try and put some sort of sub in my 03 Dakota Quad Cab that I can keep elegantly hidden and not loose any seating space. Thus I have been looking at the ultra compact 8" powered subs that are roughly 13.5" wide, 3" tall, and 9" deep... which would perfectly fit into that pocket underneath the backseat on the passenger side even when the seat is folded down... However, I was hopefully looking for just a tad bigger sub, when I came across this one (link provided).

Supposedly it will fit behind the rear seat on the driver side, but I don't really understand how... I may be wrong but I didnt think that there was any space behind the seat itself, I thought it was firmly against the frame. My question is, is there a true space behind the seat, and if so, how do I access it?

Well, I have established there is room for the unit I provided a link for, but I still do not know how to access it. Does anyone have any info on how to access behind the rear seat on the driver's side?

This is what I got in my 02. They cant be too much different. Only I got a JL in there instead of a MTX. Around here the box is 250-300. I got mine on ebay for 100 shipped. Its a 10" sub behind the back rest of the smaller seat. So its behind the driver side. But with the back of the seat against the sub, its distorts. So I lean the backrest against it and give it room to breath. When someone sit back there, I move the backrest against the sub and dont turn it up very loud. Still sounds good, but loudly is distorts due to the lack of air movement.
Edit - I didnt click the link, I had the pics in my photobucket account. But thats what you need. Check ebay for cheaper prices.

Well I went a different route. I'm single now (after being married for 15 years) so I don't use therear seats much. I pulled 'em completely out and had my brother install a monster system backthere. It's well worth it to me to lose the rear seats
