Oh and if the locks are aftermarket (meaning somone installed the actual motors in the doors and the truck didn't come witht hem from the factory) then resistors are not needed. They just simply need to tie into the relays they installed in each door (should be 2 in each) with a positive or negative trigger (which ever they used to trigger the relays when they installed the locks)
Its a brand of alarm, viper, polk, python, clifford, they tend to have alot of problems IMO mind you ive instaled them, just a pain in the butt if you ask me, I personaly like scytek alarms, but the next guy you talk to wont, its just my oppinion...
huh just looked at that there 160xvl alarm, not bad, i see that they have improved on their newer models

best buy didn't put the locks in, i bought the truck with them already in about a year and a half ago. The system burned up the relays for the locks and they just replaced the relays to make the lock switch work. If they were to hook up the viper system to it again it would probably just burn up the relays again wouldn't it?
imnothot, this is not an alarm at all, its just remote start with keyless entry. i don't know if your just calling it an alarm by mistake or what, but its definately not an alarm. I know viper does make an alarm though.

I wonder if they hooked the wrong trigger wire up form the Viper 160 VX being there are two wires, one being a + unlock, - lockand one a - unlock + lock? It's a wonder they didn't fry the unit. Call me crazy, but I have a lot of luck with the Bull Dog systems, and they have good support.
