Default 97 Dakota Cutting Out!

I will try to explain the best i can. What is is doing is at random it will just cut out. The electrical will not cut out just the engine. If i am on the highway then it will usually come back on its own if i leave it in drive. If i have to pull over and try to start it, it will usually not start for a minute or two. It seems that i have to switch between Park and Neutral. Sometimes it will get stuck in park for a second. When i try to start it then the electrical will cut out, or it will just turn over. Sometimes i get lucky and it starts real quick sometimes it takes five minutes. The last thing i did was cap, rotor, wires, plugs, coil, and air filter. This was all 3 weeks ago, with no issues. I have already checked all the wiring, i cant seem to find any shorts or anything! Any ideas's?

No check engine light or anything either, no sputtering or bucking, just a clean cut out.

Sorry, it is a 3.9 auto, supercharged. It has an electric fan but as far as i can tell it does not cause it. There is no constant. I could be running with the a/c on, lights on, stereo w/subs and amp blasting, and it may or may not cut out, or i could be just cruzing with nothing on.

I was looking on some of the other posts, and saw a couple of times that the distributer pickup coil was causing the issue......could that be it?

No, just the motor. sometimes after it dies and i go to start it then everythings shuts off when i turn the key. It will do that for a min, then start up again. It is really weird.

Could be the crankshaft position sensor, im not sure what year they started putting those in tho. If the sensor cant find the crankshaft it shuts off the engine.

Bat cables are new and tight. Where is the crank sensor located at?

Okay, sorry for the late response, anyway....i replaced the Crank Sensor (It is a pain to get to by the way) and it hasnt died on me yet, but it will take more than a day to test for sure, but now i have a check engine light on. I have not got it read yet, but i am assuming i need to reset the computer but i did not find anything that said i should. I did the ignition on-off-on-off-on but i could not get the check engine light to flash, it just stayed on the entire time. Thoughts?
