03 v6 manual output shaft seal

does anyone know how much an output shaft seal costs and where i can get one and how to install

I would imagine that is a dealer only part. You can try your local auto parts store though first.

i don't know how similar this would be, but the seal where the u-joint attaches to the rear diff is leaking on mine, and i got a estimate from my dealer for about $90 to replace the seal and change the rear diff fluid. I had asked about changing the fluid because mydakota has 196,xxx miles on it. Hope this helps at all. Oh, I was originally thinking of replacing it myself till they told me it was a pressed fit seal, and I don't like dealing with those after my experience with a 'pressed fit' control arm bushing, so yeah, as soon as my fed tax return gets here, mine's goin' to the shop for that seal and fluid change.

well thanx for the help guys ill try going to my local dealer for the part. My auto shop has the tools to fix it so ill just do it while im at school thanx a lot.
