brake squeak when wet
I've notice ever since it got cold out and or wet that it seems like my front brakes are locked up when i first start to move out of the parking spot. My dad noticed this too when he had the truck in the mountains for hunting season. And the other night it was squeaking for about 100 feet after are started rolling. My question is does this sound like a problem or is it probably just because of the wet and cold weather. My mechanic told me once when i had a prob with my drum locking up in my jeep that lots of water and sometimes cold weather swells the pads and drums and this can cause this. Just wanting to get some other opinions on my situation. It definitaly sounds like its coming from the front thanks for any help. It doesn't seem to grab when im driing just when i take off.
mine do it too when it rains, its just the wet ont he rotors/pads causing them to grab really quick the first time you hit the brakes after being parked for a while, just be easy on them and you can avoid any steering wheel bruses on your face lol
lol yeah my trucks standard so i use the ebrake every time and always make sure its out glad to hear im not the only one that has them do that tho
Mine does it too. Only the back ones though. Its been getting worse though. Mine lock up all the time if i put the littlest pressure on the brakes. They get better after i drive it though.
Is your vehicle parked outside? The next time you go to leave in the morning when it has been raining check to see if there is a light coating of rust on the rotors. Nothing to worry about it is completely normal.
