I have yet to figure out what is causing this, but randomly when i shut the truck off the motor starts to shake and hesitate to shut off. a friend of my said its deisling (how ever its spelt) and does sound like a deisle motor shutting down. i have replaced the plugs, cap, router, wires, used lucas injector cleaner and it still does it. Last night it did this and i had a hard time getting it to start again. any ideas? there is a CEL but it has something to do with vacuum line. off the top of my head i cant remember the number.

 

Get the vacuum problem fixed. A vacuum leak should'nt cause that problem, but it wont help the situation. It almost sounds like the timing is too far advanced, but on an 01 model, its computer controlled. Make sure that the distributor hold down clamp is tight, if it is loose the distributor could rotate, possibly far enough to throw the timing out, although I dont think that is the case.

 

^ I was going to suggest Timing problem as weel seeing that a tune up was done recently and didn't do it. Are the plugs gapped right?

 

You could try resetting the computer too.

 

its taken me a few days to remember to check the check engine code, it turns out its the p0441 code. i read one post that said to check certain lines but not sure which ones they are for sure
