Spark Plug Gap
Does anyone know where I might find this information? I have a 1998 Dodge Dakota V6 automatic, 176,000 miles...still going strong no major problems!!! I am going to change the spark plugs, I have them...I just need to know if anyone knows the proper gapping? I have no book with this truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

i have done a lot of experimentation with spark plugs. i have found that any gap more than .045 doesnt help. i have used .045 on dodge 318 and 360s i think that the engine in the dak now are close to the older engines. i have 2001 v 6 i had my mach, set my plugs at .045 seems to run fine. but i forgot to ask what brand he put in. i do know its not a champion. so i say .045 and if you drive hard use a plug that is one or two heat ranges colder. my mech. says that a platinum plug in dodge is a wast of money.
