Default New owner looking for skid plates

Hey gang,

I'm a proud new owner of a CHERRY '03 Dakota Quad Cab SLT Plus. 36,000 miles on her.

It is a 4x4, but I was shocked to see that there were no skid plates! I guess they were an option?

Anyway, I've checked with the dealer. You can't get the skid plates as a kit anymore. I've put some inquiries into several parts-finder places.

Can anyone direct me to a great place for Dakota accessories. Other items on my list include:

Rocker rails (powder coat black)
New front bumper (a'la ARB, etc)

Thanks!

JL

My 02 has them, they are a real pain when changing the oil, there is no hole for the oil to drain.I usually drop the plate down to drain. The fix is a Fram sure drain kit.

i haven't been able to find any of what your asking for. i've come to the conclusion that i'm going t have to build my own.

-they sell plenty of tubular side steps, but no rocker rails.
-they sell bruch gaurds and from bumpers for r/t style, but nothing like offroad rock bumpers.
-and i think that the factory skid plates were only made for qc, and dodge is the only one with them.

There are offroad bumpers available, I have seen some in a magazine I have (had the pic of the dak and all), It even had a winch mount on it.

I don't know about a skidplate supplier, but my 01 4x4 CLUB cab came with them, so it's not just quads either. There has to be something out there... I'm gonna look around some more for ya, If not, making some should be pretty easy. Mine is a 2 piece, 1 covers the whole front end back to around the oil filter (V6) and the other Covers the transfer case. 6 bolts hold the 2 in place. Hope this helps.

You might try your local wrecking yards. Here in New Mexico we have what's called U-Pull It, it's a wrecking yard that you pull what you need and the parts are real cheap. An entire motor is $175, but no promises as to weather it is in good shape though. I'm going on Sat. so I'll keep my eyes open for the skid plates. The rocker rail will more than likely need to be made for you. If I find anything out there I'll buy them and let you know.

Road Armour is like the one that I've seen. Take on their site. It has a pretty sweet Dakota sitin high with nice big mudders. http://www.roadarmor.com/ra3/dodge_trucks.html
