the problem is most likely your lead foot, get it replaces w/ a lighter model and that should help, o and its a fairly cheap procedure from what i understand
Thats not hte problem at all, I have tried doing 65mph on the highway and trying to keep the rpm's under 2K while in town. It didnt make much of a difference.ORIGINAL: shrpshtr325

yes the ram is a diesel, I take the same route of 85 miles 1 way, 2500~2800' elevation climb. all speeds were between 63~65 on the hiway, and 50~55 on the smaller 2 lane hiways. the tank on the diesel is rated at 34 gallons, I added a vent kit to it which bumps it up to approx 37~38 (not 100% sure what the full capacity is, I have dumped in 37 gallons before) I have a link in my signature to a thread where I've been testing mileage settings & different performance setups... might be worth a look.
like I mentioned on the dak, fresh set of 3923's, wrapped the fuel rails and added the cold air intake (K&N)... and also switched to mobil 1 15w-50 from who knows what. I'm planning on another oil change this weekend and going to Mobil 1 5w-30 so it'll be interesting to see what if any change in mileage there is.
The ram... the 700 mile tank was the 2nd highest mpg I've ever had on that truck, 18.8... 19.0 was the highest since I've owned it. the thing that gets me is I'm supposed to be running a winter blend of diesel which kills 1~2 mpg, looking back at the october data, it doesnt look like I ever lost the mileage with the winter blend. it just amazes me that I can get the 18's in a 7200 lb truck and have all the power I want with the push of a button (remote on the dash)... I get my cake and can eat it too...

I think the most I've gotten was just over 500kms in a tank.
Damn you Canadians with your kilometers. Why don't you... oh, wait, America is the only one that uses miles. ORIGINAL: jonnymagnum

yup i could prob get 400 if it was all highway and i ran it to the light, but i dont let my truck run that low as keeping the gas in it keeps the dirt and crap from the bottom of the tank from clogging the filter bc it has plenty of clean gas to suck in first
All Star
My best was 400mi and it was about 20mpg and i could have gone a little longer like 30- 50mi but i didnt wanna push it. That was TRYING to get good mpg and i only did it once, its to much work. If i cant afford to fuel my truck ill get a car but untill then the dak stays

Record Breaker
i once got 26 mpg on a strait run on the turnpike going from ohio to indiana, cruise was on 70 the whole way and weather was pretty much perfect during the late spring. One thing I have noticed is mileage goes way down when it is really hot or cold outside. However, I usually only get about 15 mpg due to my lead foot and city/highway mixed driving. My truck does have some mods though.
