Default Gauges quit working

We just recently bought a 1997 Dakota , we bought it to fix up for our local car shows. The gauges quit working, we checked all the ground wires and they were fine, any suggestions? Thanks, Dale

Check a fuse, or relay. You can also do the check on the dash. Does it light up?

a long time ago mopars used a voltage regultor on the dash to drive the gauges. it would regulte to 5 volts that went through the gauge and sender. i had a 77 club cab the regultor would stick shut and the gauges would go full then it would unstick and it go back to normal. i think it efected only the fuel and temp gauges. hope this helps
