added some reverse lights.
i have tinted windows so at night the regular reverse lights dont light up much so i added some extra reverse lights.

Yeah it helps alot. i didnt have to cut or drill anything to mount them. there were holes right under the license plate frame. so it worked out nice. cost me a total of about $30 for the lights and some extra wire, tape, and solder.
So did you just tie them into the stock wiring? Did you use any kind of relay or anything?
Also what type of lights did you use? Wattage?
I have thought about doing the same thing but I don't want to overload the factory wiring. It would make it much easier to see since I live in the country and it's very dark at night plus the tint doesn't help.
Thanks for any info...

i bought a $20 fog light kit from Advance Auto and tied them into the reverse light wiring. i didnt use a relay or a fuse. im not worried about overloading it because it the reverse light and they are only on when in reverse. if it was a light that was one constantly then i wouldve used a fuse.
Not a bad idea. Im going to eventually end up doing that. I just can't find out how to get my reverse lights working. Everytime I go into reverse the lights never come on and the fuse ends up blowing. Im not sure really whats happening. And before they were working but only when I had the shifter down to when im almost in "N". I wanted to get some LED reverse lights and then possibly do that too. Just have to start with the problem of the lights not working though.
i can get a wiring schematic of the lighting system if you need it. sounds like a short but im sure you know that. just a matter of where. i would probably start in the column.

i think there is also a thing called the neutral safety switch or something that goes bad...its a common problem with jeeps and i read about it on the daks to somewhere i believe it causes the reverse lights to not come on either altogether or unless you wiggle the shifter. but it also sounds like it could be a short since its blowing fuses just wanted to add something else incase that wasn't your problem.
Well a while ago my park lights kept on going out. So I looked underneath the bumper and I found what looks like a cheap way out of fixing something. Looks like the owner before me took electrical tape and put it around the wires leading up to the park lights/reverse lights. Also where it grounds out, it seems like the ground was coming loose. So i'll start there for the first part, then get the neutral safety switch, I was told it was that before, but now before I fix that I have to fix this ground issue. But thanks guys, your a great help. How hard is it to change out that switch. I was reading up on it and its underneath the drivers side tranny.
nice. i just bought arear bumper gaurd off ebay for 10 bucks.i plan on mounting a nice set off flood lights. but ill probably run them on a toggle. that way i can use them when with just the flip of a switch.
