I highly doubt 9's or even 10's. The thing will never hook unless he does some major work to the rear end, like coil overs. Even with 500 horsepower and a 6 speed, it would take some serious driving and a perfect hook to get into the 10's. Theres a video of a highly modified 440/727 tube frame first gen dakota that only weighs like 2800 pounds running 10's. plus stock vipers run in the 12's.

heres that video i was talking about

he said he was looking for 1000 hp twin'd
the wide tires will help immensly with traction, but
you're right, he would probably need coils to get it to hook really well

he also said hes autoX'ing it, so coils would make even more sense...

after he gets a viper running in a dakota, coils would be an easy swap

Thanks for all that. THere is already full Hotchkiss suspention on it, and a X brace for the frame.

I can't just upgrade the engine without the rest of it too...

Not yet, I'm still in the planning phase (and the waiting for my money phase). I'm about to hit a couple speed shops for more info. I'll definitely post the progress on here once the actual build starts though.

If you need Dakota wiring diagrams go to my thread..Dakota Hemi Swap!!!With Pics!!! Pages 9-11, I THINK ?
I posted everything you'll need to find the ASD and more. I was told over and over "It won't work"- You can't do that, when I started with my Hemi Dakota swap..I was glad to prove them wrong..I hope everything goes well,if you need help with anything ,or parts , let me know..
I need a posi trac rear end..As you'll see in this "No brake", Video..
