the best I ever got with my '00 QC 4x4 4.7 was 18.3... all hiway and all old man driving (< 65 mph)

Someone commented about having to clean the intake ... he wont have to as the motor has port injection. Small quantities of MMO in the tank should not hurt anything as it will all burn in the CC... if anything it should help keep the injector nozzels clean.

I'm curious to see what his mileage is going to be as well...

Been like that since new. 16 is about average highway for my automatic. I have gotten 18, but it never ends up there. Wind plays a lot in my milage. I do need to put plugs in it since it has 35,000 on it. I feel like I'm driving a brick in the wind. I usaully get about 14 or so around town. Get that truck up past 65-70 and you can forget about anything over 16 on the highway. If and when we take on longer trips its ya know so-so. Maybe if I had a 5 speed , I know it would improve.

Well, I was out pulling the boat today and was getting around 13.5-14, according to the computer. It was windy, and most of the driving was in the 55-60 mph range. The thing is stock except the k&n filter. I've always had a tonnau cover on too. When I first bought it new, I took it up to Duluth,MN. Couldn't get more than 11mpg. Now that being said it was brand new and the temp outside the whole way was anywhere from -10F to -30F the whole way. That makes for thick lube eh.
Who knows how long that brake may have been hanging up. may have just had a little drag since new. Doubtful, but ya never know.
I had a '98 V6 2WD. Took it to AZ with my HD in the back. The further I got from IA and ethanol the better milage. Got about 20 at one point.

Definitely not cheap, but if you know the right people.....I hada guy I know do it for me a year ago before a fishing trip. They flushed everything etc. I do a lot of towing and thought it would help drive train. Didn't do much at all for milage, but I think it will help protect a little better.

What size tires do you have now? A little more air pressure always helps too...
