o1 dak c.a.i vs drop in
hi everyone over the week end i was going to fab up the home brew c.a.t.but then decided to go with a k/n drop in instead, mainly so i could hold down the under hood temps and dust so i would not have to clean the filter as much.heres the thing,it went from 80 miles on a 1/4/tank witch is abouth 16 mpg to 12 mpg and 60 miles on a 1/4 . It makes me think there is to much air flow and now the compurtor is puting even more fuel to it {any thoughs any one} ([>:])

pitkan is right, id take averages over at least a couple tanks of gas and see what happens. seems to me that using a K&N filter will do nothing but good things. id also stick with the drop in filter rather than the CAI. from what i have read, dodges have a good factory system, better than most other makes. if you look at dyno tests, the dodges have less if anything increase while chevys and fords get big gains

has anyone tried anything from true flow. i like their foam design better then k&n's cotton gauze. jw i think im just gonna get a true flow drop in filter then get an abs elbow and piece of pipe and run that from the tb to the stock air box then maybe run a hose from the thing that goes to the fender either out into the fender or cut a hole and run it down behind my fog light.
