I want a new rear end
can anyone give me some good ideas on a new rear end.. i have the 9.25 rear end with (i think) the 3:92 gear.. would like to go to a 4:10 and switch to disks.. is this easy/possible? should i just hit up someone like strange and tell em what i wanna do?
I am not sure if hitting up someone strange, is the way to go about it, but both those things can be done. 4.10 gears are a basic swap out for the rear end and they make 2-3 different disk conv kits for Dakotas.
If you drive on the highway alot, I would re-think the gears.......bye bye MPG

the best way to get a rear end is to go to the store at the magazine rack and get a 4x4 magazine. there are lots ofadds for copanys that do rear ends. i have looked atthese adds and think any of them could do you a good job.

i forgot a auburn lsd's cant be rebuilt when they wear out, you have to throw it out.
when you talk to to the cos that do rear ends, make a list of questions before hand, and take notes as you talk it them, cause after you talk to them one tends to forget who said what. i dont knowwhy you want a diff rear end, a 9.25 is a good rear end, i would like to have a 9.25 but the 8.25 works fine for me. good luck and be carfull.
