RE: tire pressure debate
batman13: I hope your truck is only 2wd, otherwise I don't recommend you use 4wd because you're in danger of destroying your transfer case.
I only have access to that guide at work, I wouldn't know where to actually get one. The one we have is out-dated and getting pretty rough around the edges from use. It only covers vehicles from 1994 - 2003. I wish we could get a new one like it, but the new ones dont list aftermarket fitments, only OE sizes. If any of you do happen to find one please let me know where.

i started driveing in 1965. i have ran pressures at the highest on the tire, unless i have a heavey load, then it goes to 5 to 15 higher. this is for tires less than 6 ply truck tires. my dad had some 6 or 8 plys on a heavy duty 3/4 82 club cab. the tire called out 70 psi, but dad didnt like the ride. the tire guys said he could run as low as 40, but he didnt want to go to low, so he used 50, and that worked good. cause he never maxed the load out. the presures on the door post are only for the tires that came on the truck, different tires may need different psi.

i think the last time i filled them up i actually put a few psi extra in the front cuz of the engine weight and the rake but i haven't checked them lately. i like having htem filled for best gas mileage but dont worry about wear seeing as i want them to wear down so i have a reason to get 32x11.50 M/T's lol.

OK now i feel retarded cause mine are the lowest. Mine are around 32-34psi. But does the fact that mine are mud tires make a difference (for road use that is). Maybe ill jack it up to 40 front and rear....
