and i must say i just got the truck back and even with the new fluid they put in it so that i could get it to the rear end shop thursday it felt a lot stronger than it did before. before it felt like the clutch was slipping but i suppose it had something to do with the rear end. im starrting to wonder if the fluid was ever changed before. im hoping it feels like a brand new truck after the new rear is in. they replaced the right side ball joints and it the front feels a lot stiffer and stronger.

Mine goes in tomorrow morning at 9:00 am, "Wednesday the 19th". I have the 8/80 warranty. so hopefully it will cost me a hundred buck deductible. They'll just fix it stock. I hope they have better luck fixing this than the steering. This differential is quiet and smooth. My buddies blew up under warranty, and when he got his back, it whines, and is real sloppy. From what I'm reading they go every 30,000 to 40,000 miles. That means I should have enough warranty to get mine done one more time [&:]. Aftermarket is definetly the way to go if you don't have a warranty.

well the guy from the shop called me thursday and said that the whole rear needs rebuilt. he said its gonna be like 950-1000 he uses some performance shop to get his parts and i can't remember the specific name but he said their really good strong parts for some reason rock land or something comes to mind. anybody know any companys with that name or close to it maybe if i heard other names id remember it. anyways they were closed friday and the parts wont come in till like mon or tues so i have to ride with my gf back to school and wont get my truck back till april 4th when i come home to go to the flyers game im so sad that i wont have my truck for two weeks especially with a new rear end. i guess since its on my dads tab untill i get done school i can let him drive it for two weeks. lol anywyas just wanted to let you guys know the damages.

Gotmy Dakotaback Friday. New everything in the rear end. When they pulled the drive shaft, the mechanic felt the rear seal in the transfer case was weeping. It wasn't dripping, but he said looked like a slight leak, so he changed it to. They changed the rear stabilizer bar links to. Cost me a hundred bucks, "deductible". The total bill was around $1,300. I was hoping the new differential didn't whine like my buddies Durango when they did his. I notice only when I let off the gass, it has a very slight whine just for a couple seconds. I saw my local transmission guy and asked him his opinion. He said it will probably quiet down when I get a couple hundred miles on it. I'm going to call the dealer and tell then just in case. Since my warranty is good for 80,000 miles, "and I only have 38,000" or 2012, I told the service manager that I'll see him in 30,000 miles for the next one. He said he hopes it lasts that long. I hope he was kidding. The old Dakota is ready to go again.

in my 92 the rear end is SO bad. it has so much play in it. its no play anymore. it ROCKS so much that the ABS reluctor wheel is wearing on the cover. theres a fair amount of side to side movement also. lucky i picked up a free truck to fix it up with.
