My 02 has been in the shop foran electrical problem dealing with the ABS & speedo, my mechanic called me and said went in the rear diff to check the tone wheel & found out the rear end is junk. It has never made a noise at all. He said the only time he could get it to make a noise when it is off the ground up on the rack. He said the pinion seal was bad & leaked the fluid out, but the diff never leaked a drop in my driveway, soI told him to look at fixing it. Well he called today & told me all the bearing are bad & posi unit is bad. He said it has 3.55 gears with posi which I knew, but said it is a rare factoryopion,told me he found a used one for $950.00 or a new one for $2000.00. I told him they are smokin crack. I found out I could get a custom 9" for $1800.00 which is nearly bulletproof. So I told him to put a new pinion seal in it & fill it up, Ill drive her till it blows. Im gonna look around for a used one on my own and if I cant find one Ill have one custom made.
