dragging can sound in 4x4
Got a question about my 2000 Dakota Sport 4x4 4.7L V8MT.
Recently when going from 2wd to 4wd I noticed a sound that I can only describe as sounding like dragging a empty can on the road. It only happens in 4wd and goes away after a few seconds when I put it back into 2wd. It doesnt seem to have a problem going from 2wd or 4wd and I do not hear a clunk or anything like that. It sounds to melike a bearing of some kind but this is my first 4wd vehicle and I am not very experienced with transfer cases and differentials. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Also if any other information is needed please let me know. Thanks.

RE: dragging can sound in 4x4
I'm not sure about the zip zip. I'll have to take another listen. As far as the chain being stretched, I did read up abit about that. What causes that and what makes you certain that that is what it is? Also, can driving just in 2wd do any more damage to the system? Thanks again for your help.
